Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra (West), Mumbai residence on 14 June 2020. Mumbai Police registered an accidental death report and concluded suicide by hanging. An FIR (241/2020) was filed by his father K.K. Singh in Patna against Rhea Chakraborty and five others on 25 July 2020. The Supreme Court on 19 August 2020 ordered a CBI investigation. The NCB registered a separate FIR under the NDPS Act on 26 August 2020. The CBI filed a closure report on 22 March 2025, confirming suicide and ruling out murder or abetment.
